Overall, Sky Cafe exudes a sense of warmth and authenticity, making it a top choice for a flavorful meal in Philadelphia. Step into Sky Cafe and embark on a culinary journey filled with rich flavors and enticing aromas.

Very good meal (really more a 4.5 star spot). Had a variety of the nasi padang, longtong and satay. All were very flavorful and came relatively quickly. Service was friendly and efficient. Clearly quite popular with both locals with a good sprinkling of bahasa spoken in the room too. Only quibble was that some of the dishes while very good did taste a bit less rich than traditional Indonesian cuisine. It's still quite authentic but perhaps very slightly toned down. Regardless definitely will be returning for another meal. The cafe is located in a mostly Vietnamese strip mall with restaurants, supermarkets and various stores. Parking is easy as there's a parking lot but street parking is readily available.

My hon really loves Indonesian food after we had the best experience in the Netherlands. I've been here a couple of times now, but I felt like the flavors were slightly muted this time around--likely to accommodate a growing demographic that goes to this restaurant. The beef pulled softly and easily and matched delightfully with the potato curry and curried egg. Overall, I enjoyed my dish. Service is courteous; the location is convenient. I'm open to coming here again to try a different dish!

The food was amazing, especially their sambal that went with the grilled ribs (nasi iga bakar). Their Nasi Bungkus (banana leaf wrapped mixed rice) was superb too. I had it with their spicy beef (dendeng balado) instead of rendang. Spicy but totally hit the spot! Sending me back to memory lane! Super authentic. Another version of this would be the excellent Nasi Padang. I think they just got the spices right on the sauces. Their homemade bakso was also good especially the meatballs themselves. Their Sate Padang was made of tender beef tongue drenched in yum Padang sauce. I was not a fan of their chicken sate because the meat was a bit too tender/mushy to me, but my family loved it. And as for the drinks, the avocado smoothies themselves just kept me wanting to keep going back. The only one in the country that did it with epic flavors: avocado smoothie with chocolate/coffee. Comparable to the best in Indonesia. Great fried flat noodle too. And if you wanna try the original tempeh, how it would be served, try their fried tempeh. The only thing so far I wouldn't recommend was the Nasi Medan. I think the pork meat was too porky, and the dish was more like room temperature. Not a fan. Service was decent depending on which server you got. The place inside a bit tight. Parking was horrendous but that was just Philly. We went on the weekend, people were lining up to dine in. We felt a bit rushed dining in but some of the older staff was a bit more courteous. I still docked one star due to location, parking, some service, and how crammed it was inside.

indonesian food, ample parking, and you can get groceries/boba afterwards if you want. overall the food is solid, but nothing to write home about. i'd recommend the satay (the peanut sauce is fire, took it home from the leftovers on the plate lmao to use in a sautee) and this green chili pepper dish + shrimp. beef rendang was a bit tough texture wise and imo not spicy (? flavorful?) enough the only thing i actively did not enjoy was this fried fish cake dish-usually love fishcake but the texture + egg yolk in the middle just made it too rich for me. $33 pp after tax and tip for lunch. bring cash since they charge 3% for credit card usage. no wait @12 pm on a saturday for 2

26/30. Service is very quick and painless. I don't know much about Indonesian food but this place makes me want to learn more with how delicious the food is. Even some of the spicy dishes like R12 are the perfect level of spice to add flavor and make you feel the heat a little bit, but it's not overwhelming.

This place is super authentic Indonesian food! It was super yummy and no frills dining. It does close pretty early and is a small restaurant. We arrived at 7 PM and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The dishes are very unique and flavorful. There is also a discount for paying cash.

Really great Indonesian food! It's hard to impress me, because I grew up with the best Sumatran cook-my great grandma. I definitely need to come back and try the rest of the menu. The flavors are strong and authentic. If you have never tried Indonesian food, this is the place for you. I'm so happy to have found my new favorite restaurant!

finally tried this restaurant that everyone's been talking about lol. this is an indonesian restaurant located in the same plaza as pho 75 in south philly!! i got the beef rendang platter with coconut rice and WOW. i rly liked the coconut rice and beef. the beef had a slight kick to it but it wasn't too spicy! flavorful and tender. there were also veggies and an egg that came with it which were okay lol. didn't rly like the veggies tbh. me and my friends split the ground pork fried wontons and the chicken satay. i thought these were yummy! just kinda oily/greasy. definitely good to split with people. for the price and quantity of food i'd say this place is solid. there's also a parking lot but u rly gotta get lucky with a spot lol. but definitely coming back !

My parents immigrated from Indonesia, and this is their favorite Indonesian restaurant in Philadelphia. My mom especially loves their Es Teler, a shaved ice dessert with sweet syrup and lots of yummies (jellies, avocado, etc.). She will get one as a "drink" and finish it before her main course, and then she'll get another one for dessert later! This is a IYKYK type of restaurant - it's in a strip mall with limited parking and doesn't look flashy from the outside. But despite that, it's worth a visit to try Indonesian food. Even if you don't have a lot of time, you can order to-go and they also have boxed snacks in the back like nastar (pineapple cookies). Highly recommend Sky Cafe. Can't wait to be back so I can try everything on their menu!

Located in the "Vietnamese strip mall", this place offers a change to "pho" and other Vietnamese dishes. Sky cafe offers decent Indonesian food. We started with the chicken satay which tasted pretty good since it was covered in peanut sauce. I do wish the chicken satay had more of a charcoal taste. I had the spare rib. The spare rib was so tender it fell off the bone. The sauces accompanying the spare rib were so spicy (both the red one and the green one). Not picture is the Spicy Chicken Rice Platter. Even though it was only one chicken leg, the chicken looked like it was good quality. The hard boiled egg in the dish was topped with spices. I didn't feel like it was very spicy even though the dish was marketed as such. They charge 3 percent if you use a credit card but they do offer Venmo as an option.
